Sachets

 Five Little Knitted Sachets


I had such fun knitting these cute little sachets.
Great for a small gift when filled with little soaps, potpourri, or anything you want.

I made them with Peaches and Creme cotton yarn
Size 7 needles
Approximate size 3 x 5 inches

Abbreviation T1R used in the cable sachet: (Twist 1 Right) - Knit next 2 sts tog and leave sts on needles, knit in first st, slipping both sts off needles.

Basic Sachet Top is the same for all designs

  • Beg at top edge cast on 30 sts
  • Rows 1 -4 Knit
  • Row 5 (eyelets), K1, * yo, k2tog: rep from * to last st, k1
  • Row 6 Knit
Begin stitch pattern for desired version

Garter Stitch Sachet

  • With desired color work Rows 1 - 6 of Basic Sachet Top 
  • Work even in garter st for 34 rows. (17 garter ridges)
  • Bind off
Stockinette Sachet
  • With desired color work Rows 1 - 6 of Basic Sachet Top
  • Work in Stockinette Stitch for 30 rows
  • Bind off
Garter Stitch Stripes Sachet
  • With Main Color, work Rows 1 - 6 of Basic Sachet Top
  • Row 7: Knit
  • Row 8: Purl
  • Rows 9 and 10: Rep rows 7 and 8
  • Rows 11 and 12: With Contrasting Color, knit
  • Rows 13 - 16 with MC, [rep rows 7 and 8] twice
  • Rep rows 11 - 16] 3 times more, varying stripe colors as desired
  • Bind off
Stockinette Stripes Sachet
  • With MC, work rows 1 - 6 of Basic Sachet Top
  • Row 7: Knit
  • Row 8: Purl
  • working in st st, [work 4 rows CC, 4 rows MC] 3times
  • Bind off
Cable Sachet
  • With desired color, work rows 1 - 6 of Basic Sachet Top
  • Row 7: K1, p1, * k2, p2; rep from * to last 4 sts, k2, p1, k1
  • Row 8: P1, k1, * p2, k2; rep from * to last 4 sts, p2, k1, p1
  • Row 9: K1, p1, * T1R, p2; rep from * to last 4 sts, T1R, p1, k1
  • Row 10: Rep row 8 
  • [rep rows 7 - 10] 6 times more
  • Bind off
Finishing for all sachets
Using tapestry needle, sew side and bottom seams.

Twisted Cord
Cut 1 strand of yarn 80 inches long.  Fold in half and loop over a door handle or hook. Twist strands in one direction until yarn kinks up on itself when relaxed.  Hold yarn at middle of twisted strand, remove end from door handle and allow yarn to twist onto itself.  Trim cut end so cord measures 12 inches.  Tie overhand knot in cut end.  Thread other end through eyelets, then knot.

  2. Clever Karen♥ I love to do this as well but since I don't have a blog I just have a made it pinterest folder. Then I can just go there if for some reason (lol) I don't remember or want to remake a previous item!
