This is the hat I knitted to go with the booties and the blanket

on the two previous posts.

It's for Fallon's baby girl due in January.

I used size 4 knitting needles

Yarn - Caron Simply Soft

Color - Lime

Pattern

Size 8 needles
4 ply Soft Yarn 

Cast on 54 stitches
Work in Knit 1, Purl 1 ribbing for 16 rows, approximately 2 inches

Change to Stockinette stitch
Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row for 24 rows

Decrease rows
Row 1: Knit 3, knit 2 together across
Row 2: Purl 2, purl 2 together across
Row 3: Knit 1, Knit 2 together across
Row 4: Knit 2 together across

Cut a long length of yarn for sewing.  Gather remaining stitches and sew top securely. 
Continue sewing to complete back seam
