Hanging the laundry

This is a Counted Cross Stitch I made back in 2007.
It sits above my washing machine.

Yarn arrived in the mail

Ordered a bunch of yarn from Herrschners that was on sale
and it arrived a couple of days ago.

One Pound hanks of Caron yarn
(didn't even know it came that size)
and some packs of Bernat pop yarn.

This should keep me busy for a while.

Slippers

 Knitted Slippers

Slippers - Basic Pattern
Size 6 knitting needles.

Cast on 41 stitches.
Row 1 - Knit
Row 2 - K15, P1, K9, P1, K15

Instead of knitting Row 1 you can Knit 5, Purl 1, Knit 9, Purl 1, Knit 5 - it will give you a little cuff that you can fold down.  Continue the same.

Repeat these two rows until 13 ridges.
Bind off 6 stitches at the beginning of next 2 rows.
K9, P1, K9, P1, K9

Continue till one inch of desired length.
Toe
Row 1 - P1, K1 all the way across row.
Row 2 - K1, P1 all the way across row.
Do these two rows 3 times.
Last row - K 2 together till one stitch left and K that one.

Cut length of wool for sewing and with sewing needles pull through stitches on knitting needle and pull tight. Sew inside out.

I used size 6 needles and
two strands of Red Heart Worsted yarn.

You can make them with one strand and change yarn and needles to the
size you want.

To make tiny baby slippers
I use size 1 needles and baby weight yarn
Instead of 13 ridges make 7 ridges.
Still bind off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next to rows.
(8 ridges)
Continue in pattern till 12 ridges.
Toe - just do row 1 and 2 once (like regular size)
Continue like regular size

I like to put a pair on a baby gift box instead of a bow.
